Drug dealing couple arrested at Waterfront

Johannesburg - A couple was arrested at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town on Wednesday morning for dealing in and possession of drugs, said Western Cape police.

The man, 40, and his wife, 25, were arrested around 11:00 after an undercover operation by police at a shop which the couple used as a meeting point, Warrant Officer November Filander said.

The wife was found in possession of three grams of tik, two grams of cocaine and five ecstasy tablets with a combined estimated street value of R3 000.

Her husband was arrested shortly afterwards in possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of R1 000, and R2 000 in cash.

Their car was searched and three cellphones were confiscated.

The couple, from Parklands in Milnerton, was expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Friday.
