Giyani - The case against Glen Tsakani Kubayi, a suspect in Limpopo's dumped textbooks scandal, has been postponed to 5 September.

Kubayi, 44, an education department clerk who lives in Section F, Giyani, appeared briefly in the Giyani magistrates court on Friday.

It was his second appearance since his arrest after the police discovered 700 textbooks dumped on the banks of Nsami dam.

He has been charged with malicious damage to property.

Kubayi was linked to a similar case involving the dumping of schools textbooks in Tzaneen, but was acquitted due to lack of evidence.

He is currently out on R2 000 bail for the Giyani case.

State schools across Limpopo were left without books for the first seven month of the year, leading to calls for heads of Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga, Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale and Limpopo Education MEC Dickson Masemola.
