Cape Town - Four people accused of killing three men in an apparent vigilante attack appeared in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court, according to a report on Tuesday.

The Cape Times reported that Mziwabantu Mngacwengi, 45, Lumnko Bambaloza, 37, Mzimasi Mngacwengi, 37 and Buyelwa Mngacwengi, 31, were in the dock on Monday facing murder and kidnapping charges.

The four requested help from Legal Aid, and magistrate Naziem Cassiem granted a provisional postponement until Friday for financial instructions to be finalised. Their formal bail application would be heard on April 18.

Last Thursday a police patrol found the badly beaten bodies of Luxulo Mpontshane, 25, Mabhuti Matinise, 20, and Sivuyile Rota, 28, in the dunes at Macassar.

Sticks and a plastic container with a chemical fluid, which may have been forced down the men's throats, were found nearby.
