A DURBAN man shot and killed two robbers during an attempted hijacking on Bulbul Drive in Silverglen, Chatsworth, yesterday morning, police said.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Jay Naicker said the criminals started with a house robbery at 10.30 am yesterday where a complainant was allegedly attacked at his home at Riversdale Road. Three armed men entered his home and stole household items before fleeing the scene. The robbers then allegedly approached another resident at his home on Bulbul Drive and demanded his vehicle keys.

“They allegedly fired at the complainant and he returned fire, fatally wounding two of the men. Two suspects were pronounced dead at the scene and one is at large,” said Naicker. — News24
