Durban tycoon's trial to start

2012-06-11 11:05

Johannesburg -The trial of Durban businesswoman Shawn Mpisane on fraud and other charges would start in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Her lawyer Jimmy House said the date was set when she appeared in court in February.

Mpisane, who faces charges of fraud, forgery and uttering involving R4.7m, owns the Zikhulise Cleaning Maintenance and Transport CC and Ukhozi Civil Cleaning and Construction.

The State alleges she submitted false invoices to claim VAT.

When Mpisane appeared in court on February 6, House asked the court to relax her bail conditions as there were times she was required to be away from the city.

The court decided that she would no longer be required to report to the Durban police station every Friday.

Ha Guilty, you have to be joking, she is probably politically conntected so just wasting time and energy. There is no justice in this country it only looks like they doing something but actually they are defying it.

She is definitely politically connected. How else can a cleaning company be making so much money?

Yeah, and while they’re at it, lets send her to Mauritius and when she is back she can say she is suffering from jetlag and cant appear in court. After a week, she can then complain about hypertension and by then the justice system will forget about her and she will be on her merry way. By the way, what happened to that Durban couple, guilty of human trafficking and child prostitution, and was still granted by to court to leave the country to go on a holiday???
