Johannesburg - A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Friday for allegedly stabbing his employer and trying to assault a police officer on a farm in Willowmore in the Eastern Cape, police said.
The teenager was arguing with his girlfriend around 14:00 when the farm owner intervened, Warrant Officer Zandisile Nelani said.
He grabbed a fork and stabbed the 47-year-old man twice in the chest. The farm owner suffered two minor wounds.
Police were alerted and rushed to the scene.
"A scuffle broke out as the teen resisted arrest and tried to beat one of the officers with his fists. They overpowered him and to took him [in]to custody," Nelani said.
The teenager was working as a cattle herder on the farm and living in his employer's yard.
He was expected to face a charge of assault in the Willowmore Magistrate's Court on Monday.
