E Cape woman shot in chest

Port Elizabeth - A 55-year-old woman was shot dead while walking back from church to her home in Ngqeleni, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.

"She was walking to her home in Lujecweni locality at 19:45 last night when an unknown man approached her and shot her in the chest," said Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.

"Her neighbours heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene, where they saw a man running away," he said.

No-one had been arrested and the motive for the killing was not known.

    My condolences to this family too, for their loss. Where will it end? The death penalty will help to get rid of this filth we have infesting our society.

      I agree with you bring back the death penalty, people say it is not a deterrent, however if the murderer is put to death, he cannot do it again. Therefore it is a deterrent as far as he is concerned.

    Cold hearted bastards - hope they rot in hell one day!!!! Just last night my husband went to a murder where the victim was stabbed several times not to mention another person was also murdered the same evening again. We are surrounded by cruel people!
