Eastern Cape court offices up in flames
Johannesburg - The clerk's office at the Ngqamakwe Magistrate's Court went up in flames, destroying important documents, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
A security guard noticed the office on fire on Tuesday night, Captain Jackson Manatha said.
The fire brigade was called, but the fire had already damaged documents, computers, furniture and other items. The damage was estimated to be about R43 500.
An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
