Port Elizabeth - An Eastern Cape government spokesperson says a social media post in which he angrily threatens to hit white drivers was made in his personal capacity.

Mphumzi Zuzile, who was recently made road and public works spokesperson, said in a Facebook rant on Saturday: “Call me a racist but one day I’m gonna [sic] get out of my car and smack the shit out of these bloody white drivers who think they know the rules of the road better than anyone else … I’ve had enough of their insults on the road.”

Zuzile was quoted on EWN Reporter as saying that the status was made in his personal capacity and not as a government spokesperson.

The Herald newspaper also quoted Zuzile as saying that there were no rules governing what he could and could not do in his personal capacity.
