Eastern Cape man electrocuted

Johannesburg - A man was electrocuted when he stepped on an illegal connection in Duncan Village, East London, on Saturday, police said.

Captain Steven Marais said the 47-year-old man was walking on a gravel road when he stepped on the open cable.

"He was walking home and the ground was wet and that's when he stepped on the cable."

An inquest docket has been opened.
