Johannesburg - A 27-year-old man is expected to appear in the King Williams Town Magistrate's Court on Monday, in connection with the death of a Somali man, Eastern Cape police said.

Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa said a 36-year old man was stabbed to death on October 19 in his shop in Alice.

"A follow-up investigation led police to the arrest a man. It is alleged that this suspect was involved in the murder of a Somali man that occurred on October 19," Mawisa said.

"They [police] immediately took him for questioning where he was later charged for the murder. The other seven suspects that were involved in this murder are still at large... Police recovered a knife in his possession."

Investigations continue, Mawisa said.
