Johannesburg - A 15-year-old youth was caught within two hours of robbing a Johannesburg couple in a hotel in Port Alfred on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.
He was found in possession of property valued at more than R80 000 around 05:00, spokesperson Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula said. "When the couple woke up at about 03:00, they noticed that some of their items were missing and immediately notified the police," he said.
Using a tracker in their stolen laptop, the police found the thief, arrested him and confiscated the goods at 05:00. The youth allegedly broke into the room through a sliding door.
He was found with two iPhones, a wristwatch valued at R68 000, a wallet containing cash, and a carry bag. He would appear in the Port Alfred Magistrate's Court on Monday.
