Johannesburg - A drug-manufacturing laboratory with enough chemicals to produce cat (methcathinone) with a street value of R1m was raided in Germiston on Tuesday, Ekurhuleni metro police said.
"The discovery took place this morning around 11:00 where the police arrested two Nigerian nationals," Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said.
Officers raided the house in Tecoma Street, Wychwood where two Nigerian men were found processing chemicals outside a Wendy house on the premises.
"The two were immediately arrested and the property intensively searched for more evidence."
Members of the forensic unit were fine-combing the yard, a car and the house to search for more evidence.
"Extensive investigations by the SAPS are envisaged with a view to making more arrests."
The two men, in their late 30s, were expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court soon.
