Ekurhuleni power woes almost fixed

Johannesburg - Problems with the sale of prepaid
electricity in Ekurhuleni had been partially resolved by Tuesday, the
municipality said.
Municipal spokesperson Sam Modiba said it still had
problems with its vending facilities, but people could buy electricity at major
shops.
"We know that at some stage our customers could not
even access the call centre, but fortunately we were able to restore this
service within hours of the server going down. Now we are working around the
clock to fully restore the prepaid vending system."
On Monday, the vending system collapsed because of a
"technical glitch".
"As much as we are optimistic that the situation
will soon be normal... we are busy putting systems in place to make sure that
such does not happen again," said Modiba.
He said the municipality expected the system to be up and
running by Tuesday evening.
