Durban - An elderly woman from Bhamshela in KwaZulu-Natal has revealed how she bit a man raping her to make him stop.

The 63-year-old woman, who is partially blind, told the Daily News that the man broke into her house and asked for money.

She gave him her last R50, hoping he would go away. But the man then told her to open her legs and forced himself on her.

“I did not want to let him win, so I kept on biting him until he stopped raping me and left through the window,” said the unnamed woman.

The police were called and she was able to give enough of a description for them to arrest him.

The 22-year-old man then apparently knelt before the woman and apologised.

A local community leader said they were doing all they could to help the woman, who was living alone.
