Embattled Limpopo premier's wife probed

2012-01-26 21:29

Johannesburg - Allegations of fraud against Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale's wife Mokgadi Kgohloane are being investigated, police said on Thursday.

Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the probe related to claims that a company of which she was a director was mining illegally in Maake, Tzaneen, in Limpopo.

The company Blue Platinum Venture trades under the name of Bathlabine Brickworks.

Mulaudzi said the police and the Hawks were investigating. Other directors of the company were also being probed.

The company was allegedly mining with an expired licence and without an authorised environmental management plan.

Kgohloane could not be reached for comment.

Last year, the similarly named Blue Platinum Venture 16, owned by Kgohloane and trading as Batlhanine Brick Yard, in Ga-Rakoma village, outside Tzaneen, was closed by the mineral resources department.

This was after accusations surfaced that the company had kept secret the death of a worker.

    Mmmmm

      mastersvoice - 2012-01-26 22:44

I cannot agree with you John. The Apartheid ANC waged war against an unjust, criminal regime. The current ANC IS an unjust, criminal regime, not to be confused with the original ANC.

      Hotkop - 2012-01-26 23:11

There's a degree of criminalism. The ANC government, since 1994, has committed more crimes against humanity than the Apartheids regime for their 30 odd years in existance. We must also keep in mind that not 1 bullet was fired by blacks to get this country. The white people decided to give this country to this blacks via the 1991 referendum. They received it on a silver platter and managed to F%CK IT UP in a very short amount of time. Goes to show that African leaders either don't have the mental capacity to lead or they simply dont have the mental capacity to lead.

Oh and that perception of the so called "freedom fighters who gave their lives" is utter BS!

      john.duplessis2 - 2012-01-27 07:49

Ja Ettiene, you sound like a dog chasing a car. You caught this car in '94. Now you have it but don't know what to do so you destroy it. Mamparra maaifoedies - all of you!

no good we post comments on this site and do nothing,we must use our votes wisely and try to change the mind of the masses that keep supporting this new (fairly old now)unjust regime.

      Gerhard - 2012-01-27 10:10

What is Mathale still doing in office?

      Hotkop - 2012-01-27 11:32

He's looking at the destruction he caused through his window. The ANC are very proud of him. That's why he's still in office.

  • mastersvoice - 2012-01-26 22:41

Seems she's made 2 mistakes. Illegal mining, and opposing Zuma! If the Limpopo crowd had backed Zuma, and not that other kid, they would have been allowed to continue stealing from their people. Shoot Jacob Zuma! Kill Jacob Zuma! (Please note this is not a call for violence towards Jacob Zuma, but is a peaceful chant based on ANC freedom songs)

  • Zebelon - 2012-01-27 22:13

Do anything to acquire wealth, and do it fast. That is the way of the ANC's avowed NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION. They will continue until they scrape the last cent of this land for themselves.
