Cape Town - Former Agang SA spokesperson Thabo Leshilo is taking the party to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration after it apparently failed to pay him his December Salary, the Saturday Star reported.

Leshilo was fired by party leader Mamphela Ramphele earlier this year and told the newspaper his financial situation was "very bad" because he had not received his salary or expenses he incurred while on the job.

He had defaulted on payments for his house, school fees and had his cellphone suspended.

"People cannot reach me because that was my personal cellphone and we never got cellphone allowances," he was quoted as saying.

"I am struggling to pay my bond and I have not paid my electricity, which could be cut off soon."

Agang chairperson Mike Tshishonga told the newspaper he had been made aware of the CCMA application but that party Chief Operations Officer Andrew Gasnolar was dealing with the situation.

The party's current spokesperson Mark Peach told Sapa he had not received any information about Leshilo's situation and would need to revert to the human resources department.

He said he would have more information on Monday.
