Johannesburg - A 40-year-old former SA National Defence Force member was arrested after an arms cache was discovered at his home in Springs, the Hawks said on Friday.
About 600 rounds for R1 and R5 rifles and shotguns, hollow points and an unlicensed 9mm pistol were found at his home during a raid on Thursday, spokesman McIntosh Polela said.
Other items found included a pepper spray, two stun grenades, a bullet proof vest, a police reflector, 13 army knives, a computer and Boeremag files.
Polela said police reservists' training manuals, an Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging uniform, three magazines for a 9mm pistol, and an army uniform were also found at the home.
The man is expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate's Court on Tuesday to face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
