'Extreme drunk' survives fall

Pietermaritzburg - A man described as extremely drunk and barely conscious survived a five-storey fall in Durban at the weekend.
The 31-year-old Durban man fell from the window of a building on the corner of Pine Street and Brickhill Road dueing an argument.
Bystanders called the Metro police and paramedics.
Metro police, who were first to arrive on the scene, found the man lying face down and provided immediate medical assistance until the parademics arrived.
ER24 operations manager Neil Noble said the man was rushed to Addington Hospital with serious injuries.
Noble commended Metro Police Services for their efficiency in resuscitating the man.
"The man is in a rather serious but stable condition in hospital and is doing surprisingly well taking into consideration the height from which he fell," said Noble.
