Bloemfontein - Southern Free State police are to re-evaluate all unsolved cases involving woman or child victims as part of the 16-Days of Activism against gender violence starting on November 25.
"It often happens that cases become cold because complainants or witnesses move and cannot be traced," said police spokesperson Captain Elsa Gerber on Thursday.
A fresh look into a case could reveal new evidence. "New investigation methods can (also) change the outcome of the investigation," she said.
Gerber urged anyone with the number of a case withdrawn, unsatisfactorily closed, or still under investigation in the southern Free State to contact the Bloemfontein communication and liaison office on 051 406 5854/5.
