Cape Town - The families of murdered teenager Anene Booysen
and a man accused of killing her packed the Bredasdorp Magistrate's Court on
Wednesday, the SABC reported.
The bail application of one of the two men accused of
raping, killing and mutilating Booysen was scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
Jonathan Davids, 22, pleaded not guilty to the crimes on
Tuesday.
The families said they wanted to hear first-hand what
happened on the morning of 2 February, when Booysen was attacked.
The court heard on Tuesday that Davids was convicted of
theft last February and received a five-year suspended sentence.
He also had three assault cases withdrawn against him in
Bredasdorp, in September 2007, January 2008 and October 2011.
The second accused, Johannes Kana, 21, has not yet pleaded
and is expected to apply for bail at a later stage.
Booysen visited a nightclub in the town on Friday 1 February.
A few hours later, she was gang-raped and mutilated. She was found at the
construction site where she worked the next morning. She died in hospital later
that day.
