A SCOTTSVILLE family was taken in for questioning by police after a shooting incident outside their home yesterday.

Pietermaritzburg police spokesperson Mthokozisi Ngobese said a family member was confronted by six men outside his home in Woodhouse Road.

Ngobese said the father of the man being threatened was in the vicinity and when he saw a man pointing a gun at his son, he pulled out a gun of his own and fired two shots at the vehicle, sending the six men scurrying off.

Ngobese said the father could be charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property or discharging a firearm in public
