Johannesburg - Soccer fans attending the final game of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the National Stadium are advised to use the park-and-ride system, Johannesburg metro police said on Saturday.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the park-and-ride facilities would be available from Constitutional Hill in Braamfontein and at Westgate station ahead of the Sunday game.

Motorists were warned to park only in designated areas.

"Cars which are going to be parked on roads leading to the stadium will be towed away at a cost of R2 125," said Minnaar.

Burkina Faso would face Nigeria for the final match at 8:30pm on Sunday.

The Nasrec road, Soweto Highway, and Rand Show road would be closed to traffic from 2pm until midnight.
