Johannesburg - The South Gauteng High Court was expected to hear final arguments in the corruption case against former top cop Jackie Selebi on Monday.

Selebi has pleaded not guilty to charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice, related to at least R1.2m in allegedly dodgy payments made to him.

During the trial, the court heard that his friendship with convicted drugster Glenn Agliotti was tainted with corrupt payments.

Selebi allegedly shared classified police information with Agliotti, who also stands accused of killing mining magnate Brett Kebble.

The trial is expected to be wrapped up by the time the Soccer World Cup starts on Friday.
