Fire raging in Hout Bay

2012-02-06 14:15
Cape Town - A fire raged in Hout Bay just outside Cape Town on Monday where a heatwave hit the Western Cape for a third straight day.

Eleven vehicles were sent to battle the blaze which was in the vicinity of houses, horse stables and a school, said Cape Town Fire and Rescue’s Theo Layne. However, no properties were under threat.

Layne told News24 the fire was not under control but there were no reports of strong winds.

 No one has been injured.

One twitter user, ‘Kama’, wrote: “Huge fire in the centre of Hout Bay a street away. Can hear it eating everything in its path 20ft flames.”
