Firearms, explosives found on farm

2012-10-01 11:25

Johannesburg - A cache of firearms and explosives was found buried on a farm near Rustenburg, North West police said on Monday.

"[A] farm worker discovered abandoned explosives and firearms on Sunday while bulldozing a field to get rid of Blue Gum trees," police spokesperson Captain Adele Myburgh said.

The worker alerted the farmer who called the police. The farm is situated in the town of Boons, about 45km south of Rustenburg. Pistols, hand grenades, explosives, and ammunition were found wrapped in plastic, tin foil and tape.

"Some of the items were very rusty and it is suspected that they might have been buried for more than 10 years. The items originate from the old Eastern block countries."

A limpet mine was discovered when the area was searched with a metal detector. The items were taken for ballistic testing. No arrests had been made.

Naaah 10yr old, I think it was stashed when the minority thought they were gonna be ruthlessly murdered or take back the country that was not thiers in the first place. The timming coincides with the arrest of the boeremaag.

      aniken.vader.31 - 2012-10-01 12:10

matshidiso - boeremag were a little clever to manufacture their own HOME-MADE weapons in order to stay bellow the radar. You guys are LUCKY that there was a traitor in their midst.

      Antipoaching - 2012-10-01 12:12

matshidiso the article reads "more than 10 years"..... could very well be an old MK stash but it could also be an APLA stash... we tend to forget that MK & SADF were not the only "armies" involved

      joe.farmer.92775 - 2012-10-01 12:14

@matshidiso "more than 10 years" and less than a hundred. do you have a Job at 10111??

  • John Peter Steyn - 2012-10-01 11:49

Ja, he should have cleaned the weapons and used them to defend his family from the genocide being conducted against our farmers.

      aniken.vader.31 - 2012-10-01 11:54

nooo - now the police will "loose" the cache the criminals and will be used on the same farmer that called the police...

Maybe because they are declared invader species or more likely to free up land to plant something else.
