Port Elizabeth - A woman who spurned a man's professed love was raped, allegedly by him, on her way home, say police.
Superintendent Johann van Greunen said on Thursday the woman was raped 30 minutes into the New Year as she walked to her Kwazakele home after not being able to find her boyfriend.
She went to look for her boyfriend after telling the other man she was not interested in his advances.
Van Greunen said the man, who was known to the woman but had not yet been arrested, allegedly approached her again as she made her way home, pulled her into a darkened area and raped her in Marele Street, Kwazakele.
Van Greunen also reported that a New Brighton man was stabbed and robbed by three men about 04:00 on Wednesday.
Stanley Williams was at his home when he was confronted by the three who stabbed him and stole his TV set, worth about R700.
