Fisherman presumed drowned
Cape Town - A fisherman who went missing in Elands Bay is presumed to have drowned, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said on Wednesday.
The NSRI, police and local fishermen had been searching along the West Coast since Monday, but had found no sign of the man, spokesperson Craig Lambinon said.
The search was handed to the police and an inquest docket opened.
Two fishermen onboard a crayfish boat went missing on Monday. One was found clinging to the hull of the capsized boat after a search on Tuesday morning. He was suffering from hypothermia and taken to hospital.
Both men were not wearing life jackets.
