Floods in North West

Johannesburg - One person died and several were left homeless in floods in the Taung district outside Vryburg in the North-West Province, SABC news reported on Thursday.

Heavy downpours in the areas of Manthe and Manokwane were followed by a hailstorm, and the roofs of several houses were ripped off by fierce winds.

A number of rivers were flooded, compelling motorists to wait for up to three hours for the waters to subside.
