Johannesburg - Four police officers were suspended in connection with the escape of one of South Africa's most wanted criminals, Bongani Moyo, Gauteng police said on Thursday.
Two investigating officers and two policemen were suspended from duties at the Pretoria Regional Court, Brigadier Neville Malila said.
Moyo, who has allegedly been linked to more than 30 bank robberies, escaped from the court last Wednesday.
In March, the 29-year-old escaped from Boksburg Prison.
He was on crutches at the time of his court escape, not locked in a cell or wearing shackles. He had been sitting between courts 16 and 17 and escaped through court 16.
