Kimberley - Four people were killed and 11 injured when a minibus taxi and a truck collided in Kimberley in the Northern Cape on Wednesday, paramedics said.

The accident happened at about 10.30 on the Boschoff Road, 30km outside Kimberley, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks.

Those injured were taken to Kimberley's provincial hospital.

"The accident scene is still being cleared but the road is open," he said.

The truck driver was not injured but was "visibly shaken".

The taxi was en route from Kimberley to Bloemfontein.

"One of the vehicles left their side of the road causing the accident," said Wicks.

mr.wicks you are lying through your teeth . No taxi's are ever involved in any type of accidents and I have the official records to prove it. You are undoubtedly smoking last weeks socks again. Clean up your act . Confirm my facts with su ndebele before you open your mouth again and publish malicious propaganda of a racial nature against the cornerstone of black advancement. I would like to point out very clearly to you that as a result of exemparary drivng, only taxi's will be allowed on the highways in the near future, and you second raters had better keep your cars off the roads in future.
