Cape Town - Four people were arrested on Wednesday for suspected gang crimes, including murder, in Steenberg, Cape Town, said Western Cape police.

Captain Frederick Van Wyk said two people, aged 22 and 26, were arrested at 01:30 for murder. A third was taken into custody for possession of an unlicensed pistol.

It was thought they were linked to a gang operating in the area.

On Tuesday afternoon, a 31-year-old man was arrested in Steenberg for allegedly killing neighbourhood watch member Soraya Noordien on Friday.

He was linked to a local Steenberg gang.

All would appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
