Johannesburg - Four men who allegedly robbed an East Rand garage on Tuesday were arrested and would appear in court on Wednesday, police said.
Captain Thobile Xakeka said four men armed with handguns drove up to the Engen garage in Jacqueline Street, Randhart, Alberton, about 07:00 and forced the staff to lie on the floor.
The men took an undisclosed amount of cash from the garage office and then drove away in a white Mazda 323.
Xakeka said a Fox security patrol was alerted and the Mazda was spotted and brought to a stop and the four occupants were arrested.
Xakeka said two 9mm handguns were found in the car but no shots were fired during the robbery and no one was hurt.
The four arrested men, aged between 25 and 32, would appear in Alberton magistrate's court on Wednesday in connection with a charge of armed robbery, Xakeka said.
