Bloemfontein - Police in Bloemfontein on Sunday arrested four people and seized three firearms after receiving a tip-off on the illegal sale of guns, said a police spokesperson on Monday.
Inspector Harry Nagel said police members were staking out a building in East Bloemfontein when they saw people entering the premises.
They went inside and arrested four suspects - one of whom was sought in connection with two theft cases - and confiscated a semi-automatic firearm, a hunting rifle and a shotgun, he said.
"We suspect that all the firearms are stolen", said Nagel
He said the suspects would appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate's court on charges of illegal possession of firearms and possession of firearms without a licence.
