Johannesburg - An alleged credit card thief was arrested in Thabong on Monday, Free State police said.

"Police went to the man's house and found him with a skimming device after they had received a tip-off," Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana said.

"Then they searched the house and found documents suspected to be bank details of potential victims."

The information from a victim's card is transferred onto any other card with a magnetic strip.

The 30-year-old man was expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
