2010-09-08 16:58
Johannesburg - A fire at Rosendal, in the Free State, had been put out by Wednesday afternoon, Working on Fire (Wof) said.

"At this stage, the fire is out. Fire fighting teams have left the scene," Wof spokesperson Saayman Rossouw said just after lunch-time.

The Rosendal fire burnt over 6 000 hectares.

Two other fires were extinguished on Tuesday.

One destroyed 35 000 hectares of grazing land on the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State, and the other, near Willem Pretorius Reserve in Ventersburg, destroyed 20 000 hectares of land.
