Johannesburg - The widow of a man murdered in Zambia at a fishing camp has paid an emotional tribute to the man she was at one stage accused of killing.

Beeld reported that Estie Pienaar, 33, paid a moving tribute to Marius Pienaar, 50, at his memorial service in Roodepoort.

“I will never ever forget you babes!!! No one will ever be able to fill your place in my heart, I will always be your pet until I one day see you again in heaven [sic],” wrote Pienaar in her tribute.

Her husband died at the fishing camp over two months ago and although she was arrested along with two other men and was charged with his murder, she was released along with one of the accused due to a lack of evidence.

The case against Nicky Rossouw will however continue and Pienaar would have to testify at the trial.

“I miss you more than words can say, I don’t understand why something like this had to happen to us,” wrote Estie.

The couple had been married for only 8 months at the time of his death.

The family of the murdered man did not attend the service.
