Johannesburg - Robbers who broke into two Brooklyn Mall shops in Pretoria at the weekend made off with jewellery worth at least R200 000, police said on Monday.
Superintendent Morne van Wyk said about 12 men entered the mall about 03:20 on Sunday in three vehicles, and rammed two shop windows.
A shoot-out ensued between a security guard and the robbers before they fled with the stolen jewellery. The intruders also took clothing of an unknown value.
The security man was slightly injured during the shoot-out.
The suspects were still at large, van Wyk said.
