Lolly 'killer' case postponed

2012-04-10 09:01

The case against George Louka, suspected of murdering South African strip-club owner Lolly Jackson has been postponed in Limassol, Cyprus.WATCH

Johannesburg - An order for the extradition of George Louka, accused of murdering strip club owner Lolly Jackson, has been granted by a court in Cyprus, the National Prosecuting Authority said on Friday.

Spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga said that South Africa's right to extradite Louka had been confirmed by the court.

It was not yet known when Louka would be flown to South Africa to face charges of murder, theft, possession of suspected stolen property and fraud.

He was arrested by Cypriot police in March after evading arrest by the South African police.

Jackson, the owner of the Teazers franchise of strip clubs, was shot dead at a house in Edleen near OR Tambo International Airport on May 3, 2010.

Louka, also known as Luca Smith, allegedly phoned Gauteng crime intelligence boss Joey Mabasa and confessed to killing Jackson shortly after the murder.

Louka previously told the Sunday Times that he did not believe he would be granted a fair trial.
