Get naked - church minister

2012-07-25 10:06

Johannesburg - A Seventh-day Adventist minister is under investigation for allegedly advising 17 couples to run around naked and taking pictures of one of the nude couples, according to a report on Wednesday.

The Bloemfontein minister apparently dished out this advice during pre-marital counselling sessions, reported Beeld newspaper.

He told the couples to run around naked in parks and streets in Bloemfontein.

But instead of adhering to his advice, the couples complained to the church.

However, one couple agreed to have naked pictures taken. The minister apparently kept copies of the pictures for himself.

The church declined to comment to Beeld.

"The minister apparently kept copies of the pictures for himself." What does this say about this sick minster? Really sick man, couldn't he just download porn instead of humilating people.

      Lennon Chenga - 2012-07-25 10:47

U don't understand, he didn't say pose, he said run around!! That's poetry in motion!!! Lol!! Did the couple really believe this was the message from God??

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 10:52

Blind faith. They have been brainwased by the church to "just have faith", and to never question.

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 11:48

Agree, the issue here is about the pastors pre-marital counselling mistakes and has nothing to do with the churches believes.

(Am laughin but ders so much immorality goin on it seems like we're livin in hell as we speak)

  • deon.evert - 2012-07-25 10:52

I was brought up in this faith and I'm one of the lucky ones who was able to escape its clutches. The beliefs and teachings of the SDA church are so strict and intolerant that when people finally crack under the pressure, they go over the edge in a big way!

  • wicus.berg - 2012-07-25 10:57

Hey Editor. Why are the comments closed on the "Robbers drowned boy, 12, in boiling water" story? People would want to comment on that.

      Agreed

      Roulon du Toit - 2012-07-25 11:10

If the others could say no, then so could the couple that ran around naked. They were obviously down for it.

  • musawenkosi.williams - 2012-07-25 11:01

one individual does nt represent the church, what he did wz wrong and this in representing the church and we cnt blame the church because of him,we didnt also hear the side of his story, the bible has warned us abt false prophets, how many svandals so far have we heard abt Roman Catholic church?

      Dawn Campbell Gibson - 2012-07-25 11:33

musa - yea, and the staff at Kentucky who played that funny version of the Anthem, were not representing Kentucky either.

  • beki.khumalo - 2012-07-25 11:10

This is very unfortunate, but definately NOT the teachings of our faith. This an individual in deep need of prayers.

      Lennon Chenga - 2012-07-25 11:15

Beki, you don't even need to defend your faith. This minister balls (pun intended) for the other team!! Lol

      Dawn Campbell Gibson - 2012-07-25 11:27

beki - prayers will help nothing! SDA, Catholic, Baptist ... whats the difference. they all a bunch of hypocrites.

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 11:33

"Faith" is just "belief without evidence". It is because of their "faith" that they fell for this. If they used their brain instead, they would have realised that this minister is just a horny bugger, and not listened to him. Furthermore, if they used their brain they would not have fallen for this scam called "religion" either.

      Bheki Mpofu - 2012-07-25 11:34

Lennon-last time you were shielding mugabe, now you are attacking my faith.I dare you stop.

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 11:52

Lemnon, please China read properly, this has nothing to do the SDA faith but rather the method used by a pastor during premarital counselling. No where does it state that the Church adopted and practice these methods.

      hugo.naude - 2012-07-25 12:15

JohanCduToit - I can c by your profile "pic" where your philosophy has lead you ... into deep darkness. I take it you dont believe in God?

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 12:16

@ Johan don’t worry people pray for people like you (the lost sheep) every day. However you claim to have brains, tell me this how do conclude on something without hearing both sides of the story. How do you conclude the minister is a horny bastard. After all this was a pre-marital counselling session, how do you know whether the couple that actually did run naked are not more connected to each other because of this experience after all the ones that felt uncomfortable refused to run. So please don’t expose your own ability to use your brain.

      Lennon Chenga - 2012-07-25 12:18

Beki, u misread my comment! I said you don't have to defend your faith as in, this guy obviously doesn't believe in what we believe in. Elaborating further would just attract abuse from non believers!

      Lennon Chenga - 2012-07-25 12:21

Arthur you misread my comment jus like Beki, I'm Christian jus like you, and I don't believe this minister is a true Christian (hence he's not from the same team)

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 12:22

Did you think that the Springboks that were at KAMP STAALDRAAD was also stupid and didn’t realise that the coach was a horny bugger. People use different methods for team building and some may be unorthodox, it’s up to the individual to decide.

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 12:25

      @ Lennon, cool man

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 13:39

Hugo, my profile pic is still black to show my opposition to the Protection of State Information Bill. And no, I don't believe in any gods, unicorns, the flying spaghetti monster, or anything else for which there is zero evidence. Arthur, saying that the minister is a "horny bastard" is just my opinion based on the information presented, but if it turns out that there is another good explanation for this "running naked" ritual, I will take my words back. Until then I will stick with what is the most likely explanation.

      hugo.naude - 2012-07-25 14:02

JohanCduToit ... on what evidence do you base your ussumption that there is no God? Your statement of belief "that there is no God" is a self contradictiory statement ... for to sustain this belief you have to demonstrate infinite knowledge ... which is like saying "I have infinite knowledge that there is no being in existance with infinite knowledge." Or to put it more simply for you --- a person will have to be God in order to say there is no God. See how foolish your religion is??

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 14:47

Hugo, no, I cannot prove that there is no god, just like you cannot prove that there is no flying spaghetti monster. It is not me who came up with this extraordinary idea of "gods", so I don't have to prove anything. The burden of proof is on you. This topic of "burden of proof" has been debated ad nauseam. You will find lots of info if you google it. Here is just one: http://www.freethoughtdebater.org/2012/03/03/atheism-agnosticism-and-burden-of-proof/

      hugo.naude - 2012-07-25 15:40

JohanCduToit ... you see this is where your whole arguement breaks down ... Once you state "I lack a belief in God" you have infact affirmed a religious belief and u r therefor required to prove it --- if you can. Once again you prove my statement - u lack even an understanding of what you think you believe.

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 16:40

Reread what you just wrote but replace the word "God" with "The flying spaghetti monster". Does that makes sense to you? I reject the existence of your god for the same reason you reject the existence of the the flying spaghetti monster, unicorns, and the 1000001 other gods created by man. But don't let this worry you. Your beliefs and mine are almost exactly the same. I just believe in one less god than you do.

  • musawenkosi.williams - 2012-07-25 11:16

we need realy evidence ,its just that the media dnt have stories to write onother poor journalism, where are the photos?do u think this story is true?how cn old people allow a pastor to do them that?

  • ludlowdj - 2012-07-25 11:16

But as a minister he is a man of God, he can't be wrong then can he? Religion remains the biggest lie man has ever allowed himself to be drawn into.

      JManAtheoi - 2012-07-25 11:36

      Amen.

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 11:48

"Amen" LOL. Thank God I am an Atheist.

      hugo.naude - 2012-07-25 12:17

Religion is the biggest scam ... Really ?? Based on what Ludlowdj? Your opinion?

      hugo.naude - 2012-07-25 13:28

JohanCduToit ... atheism - the religion of fools!! Fool = One who is deficient in judgment, sense, or understanding!! I guess that sums you up quite accurately!!

      merven.halo - 2012-07-25 13:53

@Hugo, based on logic and intelligence.

      arthur.adams.988 - 2012-07-25 14:52

@ Johan, My religion is the foundation of my morals without it I could just walk up to a atheist and kill him. But because of my religion/faith / believes I may not because "thou shall not kill". Why is it that atheist like you spend so much time trying to convince everybody that there is no God?

      JohanCduToit - 2012-07-25 15:06

You see, that is just where you make the mistake. Morals do not come from religion. I don't believe in any gods, yet I have no desire to kill anyone. On the contrary, it is exactly because of all the senseless killing that happens in the name of religion that we see all over the world, that I am so much against religion. The world will be a much better place without religion.
