Gift of the Givers off to Haiti

Pietermaritzburg - Charity organisation the Gift of the Givers is requesting donations ahead of its visit to Haiti to offer assistance to the people there.

Founder Dr Imtiaz Sooliman said they will send out three teams to assist, with the first team leaving on Thursday night.

“We are looking at sending out three different teams to the area because, apparently, the damage there is quite massive.”

A search and rescue team will help to locate and rescue the injured, while a second team will take medical supplies. The last team will take goods such as tents and blankets.

“We will be sending the first team of 10 men… and they will gather the intelligence and report back to us on the extent of the damage, and then we will organise our supplies according to the information,” said Sooliman.
