Girl recognises rapist's voice

Johannesburg - A 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a teenage girl in Willowvale, Eastern Cape police said.

Spokesperson Lingisile Magama said a 17-year-old girl was alone at home on Saturday night, when the man allegedly forced the door open and raped her.

"He had been drinking at the girl's neighbour before he allegedly raped her. She recognised him by the voice and he was arrested today (Sunday)."

Magama said the man would appear at the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on Monday.
