Pretoria - If residents of Khutsong want to be reintegrated into the Gauteng province this will happen, provincial and local government minister Sicelo Shiceka said on Monday.
"If people of Khutsong want to come to Gauteng that is going to happen," Shiceka told journalists in Pretoria.
He was speaking following the countrywide Independent Electoral Commission voter registration weekend.
Shiceka said government was to go to the Khutsong, Matatiele and Moutse communities, who had expressed unhappiness with their respective demarcations.
He said government would engage with the communities.
After being part of Gauteng for many years, in 2006 Khutsong was incorporated into the North West following the local government elections.
Both Moutse and Matatiele have been affected by cross-border municipality issues.
Residents in Moutse and Matatiele have rejected incorporation into the Limpopo and the Eastern Cape provinces respectively.
