Gran found lying in pool of blood
Johannesburg - A 93-year-old woman has been killed at her home in Siyabuswa near Marble Hall in Mpumalanga, police said on Monday.
Her granddaughter found her lying in bed, in a pool of blood at about 09:00 on Saturday, Constable Busi Mtshweni said.
"The intruders had apparently gained entry into the house after cutting a steel burglar door."
Mtshweni said the motive for the crime was not immediately clear as nothing had been stolen from the house.
The woman was staying with her two granddaughters. She was sleeping at the time of the attack.
A case of murder was being investigated.
