Durban - An employee at the King Edward VIII hospital, in
Durban, has died from his gunshot wound, the KwaZulu-Natal health department
said.
He was shot dead by a colleague on Thursday morning.
His family had been informed and hospital psychologists
and counselling services were being offered to the family and staff members,
said health spokesperson Sam Mkhwanazi.
"The alleged gunman is on the run; police are
looking for him," said police spokesperson Thulani Zwane.
He said the gunman's 50-year-old victim was shot in the
chest and arm.
Zwane said the motive for the shooting was not
immediately clear.
