Half-buried body found in Soweto

2011-12-13 11:32

Johannesburg - A half-buried body of a man was found near a stream in Dobsonville, Soweto, on Tuesday, Gauteng police said.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the body was found by workers installing electricity cables in the region.

"The police came later and uncovered the man. They then found that he was between 30 and 36-years-old and that he was hit by a sharp object at the back of the head," he said.

"While we were at the scene, a man came from the crowd [that had gathered] and said that he had known the deceased and that they were together earlier in the morning."

Makhubela said the man was taken in for questioning.

"We are trying to get the full details about what happened. What surprises us is that all of a sudden this man was just there, it seems suspicious," he said.

this guys...would you even be there if you knew what you did and let alone say you were with the diseased? I mean really now...now they are suddenly shifting the blame and not doing their job...so if I die, no one will identify me fearing to be a suspect...for crying out loud, cant they use that as info, we at least have info on the victim and might know were resides, can visit the family and ask questions and more...jerr

@yola. But we are sensitive aren't we? Remove the chip from your shoulder and move on please. As far as I know "They" is not the new word for black people, but then we all know the saying about if the shoe fits...

      Lana-May - 2011-12-13 13:59

@Godesha.... reading my mind, I also felt like slipping the "if the shoe fits" in there but thought Ms. Constipation aka Yola would then really have a heart attack...
