2011-06-15 22:30

Johannesburg - Tons of hashish with an estimated street value of R550m were seized at a freight company in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesday by the Hawks.

Spokesperson McIntosh Polela said the Hawks received a tip-off and on arrival found packages in a consignment, covered with two tiles on each side.

The load was declared as tiles to an export company and was due to be exported to Europe. The Hawks discovered 9 050kg of hashish hidden inside.

"The Hawks suspect thatthe latest seizure islinked to a R54bn hashish bust which was made just over two months ago. We are following up on information to track down suspects. No arrests have been made," Polela said.

Why would you be following up on information to track down the suspects if you have already advertised it in the media. Do you really think the public are that stupid....
