Johannesburg - Tons of hashish with an estimated street value of R550m were seized at a freight company in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesday by the Hawks.
Spokesperson McIntosh Polela said the Hawks received a tip-off and on arrival found packages in a consignment, covered with two tiles on each side.
The load was declared as tiles to an export company and was due to be exported to Europe. The Hawks discovered 9 050kg of hashish hidden inside.
"The Hawks suspect thatthe latest seizure islinked to a R54bn hashish bust which was made just over two months ago. We are following up on information to track down suspects. No arrests have been made," Polela said.
