Head stolen from fresh grave

2012-07-09 10:50

Johannesburg - A traditional healer and a pastor's son were among three people arrested in connection with the theft of a head from a grave in Makwassie, North West, last week, the Sowetan reported on Monday.

According to relatives of Ezekiel Motloung, the three arrested after a tip-off were well known to them. They had attended Motloung's funeral on 1 July and had been very helpful.

Two days after Motloung was buried, a municipal worker alerted the family that the grave had been tampered with. When they arrived at the grave with the police they found Motloung's head had been cut off.

At the time, police spokesperson Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the body was still in the coffin, but the head was missing.

Ngubane told the Sowetan they discovered a head in a bucket wrapped in plastic on the roof of the traditional healer's house.

The three were expected to appear in the Wolmaransstad Magistrate's Court on Monday.

It is high time S.A. to implement witchcraft laws like Zimbabwe.

      martin.britchford.5 - 2012-07-09 12:04

hahahah the church is up in arms, terrified and spreading hate, it goes without saying, keeping up the status quo, sa soon to be the new home of witch burnings and inquisition in the name of the lord ....again, savages

      antin.herinck - 2012-07-09 13:51

How do you know it's witchcraft? Perhaps they were just hungry! Or perhaps they needed it for some interesting science project. Best not to loose your head and jump to conclusions, in a case like this. Watch the headlines and see what happened there, on that stormy night, at the pitch-dark grave yard, with those three ghouls digging in the dank soil for the macabre object of their unclean desires.

    people are not scared

      antin.herinck - 2012-07-09 15:28

Wrong, a LOT of people are very scared. Also many who read this page. I don't understand why. We all kick the bucket some time. Perhaps it's all this fear-mongering of religiots or the retards who reckon that the departed can harm us, if we fail to please them. But true, in this case, the departed will not likely be pleased, without his head and all. And still our head-thieves cut it off and put it into an apple box.

Sangoma's are Satan personified. Evil, evil, evil bunch!

  • antin.herinck - 2012-07-09 14:38

Why did these ghouls do this? We don't know yet. But on that pitch dark and stormy night, in the gloom of their flickering torches, they silently laboured to disinter the object of their dark desires from the dank earth. All one could hear was their heavy breathing from exertion. At last, when their spades met with what was supposed to be the dead's final resting place, they prised open the casket and begun yielding their bread-knife, meeting with flesh, gristle and bone. The windpipe made a rasping sound when it met with the knife's serrated edge. The left eye fell open.... For the rest of the story, once the court case starts: read the head-lines.

      antin.herinck - 2012-07-09 18:26

Erratum: "yielding"? Must have been caught up there. "wielding".

      Bless Boswell - 2012-07-10 00:27

You are missing a rewarding career in providing thrills and spine chilling tingles for the ghouls of this country.
