Johannesburg - A forfeiture order against one of the men accused of Pretoria mother Chanelle Henning's murder was granted on Wednesday, the NPA said.

Andre Gouws did not oppose the application for his Ford Bantam bakkie and BMW motorbike to be taken by the State, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Medupe Simasiku said.

He is charged with Henning's murder, along with former Nigerian Olympic athlete Ambrose Monye, in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

Henning was shot dead outside the creche where she had just dropped off her child, in Faerie Glen on 8 November 2011.

The bakkie and the motorbike were allegedly used in the killing.

"The order was granted in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act which provides that property that is used to commit a crime can be forfeited to the state."

The Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU), a subsidiary of the NPA, sought the order after it provided evidence that the two vehicles were used in the killing and its planning.

Investigations revealed Gouws used the bakkie to meet Gerhardus du Plessis and Willem Martinus Pieterse.

The two are serving 18-year prison terms after confessing to their roles in the murder.

Gouws allegedly conveyed his plans for the murder to Pieterse and Du Plessis during the meeting, Simasiku said.

Gouws and Monye pleaded not guilty to five charges relating to an alleged conspiracy to murder Henning.

The AFU contends Gouws followed Henning in the bakkie ahead of the murder.

The investigation revealed Gouws drove the motorbike to point out to Pieterse and Du Plessis the complex where Henning lived, and her child's nursery school, Simasiku said.

The bakkie and BMW, with a combined estimated worth of R60 000, would be sold and the proceeds paid into the criminal assets recovery account.

Earlier on Wednesday, the North Gauteng High Court postponed Monye and Gouws's trial until 1 July.
