Johannesburg -Teazers boss Lolly Jackson spent Saturday and Sunday night behind bars, apparently because he's considered a "high risk prisoner".
Jackson was arrested on Saturday night at the Teazers club in Rivonia, Sandton, on charges of blackmail, crimen injuria and intimidation.
According to Hawks spokesperson Musa Zondi, they are also investigating a charge of kidnapping against Jackson.
Sean Newman, spokesperson for Teazers, told Beeld on Sunday that the police refused to negotiate bail for Jackson on Saturday night.
"The police grabbed Lolly outside the club and took him to the station. When his lawyer got there, he was told that Lolly is considered a high risk prisoner.
"Only his lawyer, legal team and the investigating officer are allowed to see him."
According to Newman, he has spoken to Jackson briefly.
In good spirits
"He's okay and in good spirits, considering the circumstances."
Apparently the charges are in connection with a spat between Jackson and one of his dancers, who quit her job to be with a married man.
Jackson told Beeld in December that especially married men often want to marry his girls, which gives the clubs a bad name.
The conflict came about when Michael Kalyminios, a married businessman from Johannesburg, supposedly fell in love with a Ukrainian stripper.
Jackson wanted Kalyminios to pay R50 000 before he could marry the stripper, Yuliyana Moshorovs’ka, 24.
Kalyminios and Moshorovs’ka told Talk Radio 702 that Jackson had followed and threatened them, and that the police did nothing about the matter.
Jackson then claimed that Moshorovs’ka owes him the money.
Only 'fair'
"Her contract hasn't expired yet and I was the one who paid for her permits and other expenses. It's only fair."
Newman said on Sunday the possible charge of kidnapping is "ridiculous".
"How could Lolly do something like that when she was the one who ran away while she still had a contract to fulfil?"
According to Zondi, Jackson is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
